Liverpool features highly in a new report about the UK’s most talked about cities, taking second place only to London. ITN Business reports that ‘The UK’s Most Talked About Cities 2024’ report by ING Media measures up a city’s investment prospects based on variables such as infrastructure, innovation and cultural activity.
The researchers tracked online conversations to gauge which cities had their finger on the pulse. Not surprisingly, London took the top spot for 2023, driven by King Charles III’s Coronation. However, Liverpool came second, with online content led by sport and culture.
2023 was the year that Liverpool hosted the Eurovision Song Contest, and the city of course has two Premier League Football Clubs in Everton and Liverpool FC. The city also has a vibrant independent arts scene, and several world class museums and art galleries.
Liverpool has also been ranked 5th in a new survey by Compare the Market to discover the most desirable places to live in the UK. The list was compiled using data from average monthly Google search volumes for terms related to living in and moving to a specific location.
All this news is not surprising to those who are already familiar with Liverpool, whether as a great place to live or rent office space. It’s a thriving city that has seen significant investment and regeneration over the past few decades. This in turn is attracting new investors, entrepreneurs and residents to the city.
With its emerging science and technology sector and excellent cultural and sporting facilities, it’s no wonder that Liverpool is regarded as one of most up and coming cities in the UK.
